Many shrimp feed mills have reported that during shrimp feed production, the small particle size (1-2mm) easily clogs the pellet mill, and uneven mixing of raw materials frequently results in insufficient nutritional content, requiring rework and hindering production output. However, by finding the right optimization methods, the production capacity of shrimp feed production lines can be effectively improved. Below, we will discuss the specific methods.

 

This is reflected in three aspects

 

First, optimize the "pellet mill mold and parameters" to improve the efficiency of fine pellet forming. Shrimp feed pellets are small with fine die holes, making them prone to clogging and causing the pellet mill to stop for cleaning. Optimization methods include: 1) replacing the ordinary pellet mill mold with a "fine-hole anti-clogging mold," and polishing the inner wall of the die hole to reduce raw material adhesion to the die hole, reducing clogging frequency from 5 times per day to 2 times; 2) adjusting the pellet mill pressure and speed. When producing shrimp feed, the pressure is reduced to 1.2 MPa and the speed to 180 rpm, allowing the raw material to slowly enter the fine die hole and avoiding clogging. After optimization, a feed mill saw its hourly pellet mill output increase from 500 kg to 650 kg, and the time for cleaning the die hole was reduced from 1.5 hours per day to 40 minutes, significantly improving production capacity.

 

 

Second, optimize the "raw material crushing and mixing process" to reduce waste and rework. Shrimp feed requires high particle size and uniform mixing of raw materials; insufficient crushing or uneven mixing will result in substandard pellets. Optimization methods: First, replace the sieve in the grinder with a 0.8mm fine sieve to grind the raw materials to a finer particle size, facilitating pelleting and nutrient absorption. The rate of substandard pellets decreased from 15% to 6%. Second, install multiple sets of stirring paddles in the mixer to increase the number of stirring cycles, ensuring more uniform mixing of raw materials and additives (such as astaxanthin and probiotics). This increased the nutrient compliance rate from 85% to 98%, reducing rework caused by uneven nutrition. After optimization, a feed mill reduced rework feed by 300 kg per day and increased daily output by 0.8 tons.

 

 

Finally, optimize the finished product packaging process to improve subsequent efficiency. Shrimp feed packaging is small (mostly 5kg/bag), and manual packaging is slow, causing pellets to accumulate after the cooler, affecting production in earlier stages. Optimization methods: First, replace manual packaging with an "automatic packaging machine" that automatically weighs and seals the bags, increasing the packaging speed from 30 bags per hour to 80 bags per hour. Second, install a "buffer conveyor line" before the packaging machine to slowly transport the cooled pellets to the machine, preventing accumulation. After optimization, the packaging process at a certain feed mill no longer hindered production, allowing the production line to operate continuously and increasing daily output by 1 ton.
